The regulation of immigration or more specifically the regulation of the Organic Law on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain, has just been approved at the last Cabinet meeting held last Friday April 15 2011.
The text of the regulation of immigration management mechanisms developed under the Reform Law of 2000 that prompted the government itself and the Parliament approved a little over a year and puts the means to enforce strengthening social cohesion, integration and equal rights and duties. The new regulation responds to the challenges of the migration cycle and completes the transposition of Community legislation on immigration.
The rule approved today ensures greater rigor, objectivity and transparency in administrative procedures in foreigners. In addition, objective criteria for the procedures to be performed by foreign citizens, streamlines procedures and introduce new technologies in the procedures.
In dialogue with governments and civil society
The new regulation has come to the Council of Ministers after the hearing process and public information and hearing the State Council. The text has been agreed in the dialogue table and has undergone an extensive process of dialogue, both with government and with civil society.
